Astrophotography by Eddie Guscott

C2001Q4 - Comet Neat
>
Date/Location: 14 June 2004  Corringham, Essex
Equipment: 5" F6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera / L=24m, RG & B = 8m
Processing: AIP4WIN, Maxim DL & PS7
Notes: Despite being about  4 weeks after perehelion passage, this comet still presented a very nice sight around magnitude 5.5.

The strange coloured star trails are caused by several images being stacked together centered on the comet's nucleus. The comet actually moved some distance during the exposures.
