Astrophotography by Eddie Guscott

ISS & ATV 1 (Jules Verne)

This static camera image shows the International Space Station (ISS) crossing the field of view (the bright trail) and the European Space Agency (ESA) new Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV 1) which was following the ISS by a few thousand kilometres. The ATV trail is much fainter and is slightly above the trail made by the ISS. The diagonal trails are aircraft. At left is the constellation of Leo with Regulus and Saturn being the two bright trails in the lower left of the image.
