NGC4631 - The Whale Galaxy

Situated in the constellation of Canes Venatici, this chaotic galaxy resembles a cosmic Whale or Herring.

Date/Location: 6-7-8-10 April 2008   Corringham, Essex
Equipment: 8" f/5 reflector
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM CCD camera with Astrodon filters. LHaRGB 120/30/24/24/24 mins
Notes: Lost a lot of exposures due loss of guide star (clouds!). All colour images obtained unguided.
