| Comet Pojmanski (C/2006 A1) |
| An early
morning surprise visitor
|
![]() |
| Date/Location: | Corringham, Essex 5 March 2006 |
| Equipment: | 5" f6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount |
| Camera/Exposure: | ST2000XM ccd camera with Astrodon filters LRGB 8/8/8/8 (1 min subs) |
| Notes: | The first image has been heavily processed to reveal some of the tail structure. There is a double ion tail and just a hint of a dust tail. The strange looking stars are caused by stacking several separate 1 minute images which were tracked on the moving comet. The second image represents the approximate view in binoculars. |
Date/Location: Corringham, Essex 13 March 2006 Equipment: 5" f6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera with Astrodon filters LRGB 6/6/6/6 (90 sec subs, all binned 2x2) Notes: Just a week after the top image was taken, this comet has faded dramatically. Now only just the merest hint of a tail as it moves rapidly north. Image taken through high haze and some cloud
