Comet Swan (C/2006 M4)

Comet Swan on 1 November with Tak Mewlon 210 and ST2000 CCD camera. Bright moonlight makes visibility of the tail very difficult.

Comet Swan on 30 October. A bright first quarter Moon is making visibility of the tail difficult. However I managed some images from my local dark sky site at Dengie Marshes (despite a lot of cloud - note the gaps in the star trails). Imaged with ST2000 camera and Tak FS60 refractor.

Comet Swan on 26 October. Still very bright. This was from my garden - ST2000 and little 60mm Tak FS60 refractor.

Comet Swan on 24 October during a remarkable increase in brightness. The picture is a mosaic of 3 separate images combined to try and show the extent of the tail. ST2000 camera and 130mm f/6 TMB refractor.

Comet Swan - a colour image taken during the brightness increase on October 24th. ST2000 camera and 130 f/6 TMB refractor.

Date/Location: Corringham, Essex  5 September 2006
Equipment: 5" f6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera   with Astrodon filters  LRGB 8/4/4/4 (2 min subs RGB binned 2x2))

Notes: High cloud made imaging difficult. This object was also very low down in the sky having just cleared the rooftop of a neighbours house.
