NGC253 - Sculptor Galaxy
One of the closes galaxies to our own Milky Way, this edge on galaxy in Sculptor has an angular size similar to the Moon.

Date/Location: 7 September 2004, Equinox Star Part, Kelling Heath, Norfolk
Equipment: 5" F6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera / LRGB 60/30/30/30 minutes all with 10 min sub frames

Notes: This object is impossible for me to image from home, so i took advantage of the clear southern horizon at a star party. Even so, at -20 degrees declination, the galaxy was never higher than 15 degrees above the horizon. The telescope was nearly pointing horizontally at the end of imaging.
