NGC6992 (Veil Nebula)
In the Milky Way constellation of Cygnus lies a large supernova remnant known as the Veil Nebula. This is just the eastern portion, which is also the brightest part, and is designated NGC6992.

This re-processed image was taken from the same data as the image below. With the kind help of Stan Moore and the use of CCDStack, I was able to reduce the noise dramatically (due to excessively hot pixels probably caused by the cooler on the CCD camera running near to 100%) and get a little more out of the image, as well as a much smoother final image.

Date/Location: Spring Equinox Star Party at Kelling Heath, Norfolk 10th April, 2005
Equipment: 5" f6 TMB Refractor on AP900 mount
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera with Astrodon filters
  HaRGB : 60/20/20/20 minutes (RGB were binned 2x2)
Notes: A very transparent night following 2 nights of snow and rain
