| NGC869-884 - Double Cluster | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Two open clusters side by side, this pairing in the constellation of Perseus can be seen as a hazy patch with the naked eye from a reasonably dark site. Magnificent in any binoculars. This "double" cluster lies at a distance of 7000 light years with the two being only about 200 light years apart. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Following a very misty (wet) night, this was the view in the adjoining field just prior to sunrise (composite image).
