This is a view into the very heart of our Milky Way galaxy, the constellations of Sagittarius (the Archer) and Scorpio (the Scorpion). We are looking at vast clouds of gas and dust obscuring the heart of our galaxy beyond. This picture shows many deep sky objects, including M11, M16, M17, M18, M26, M8, M20 (just), M21, M23, M25, M6, M7 as well as many lesser well known NGC/IC objects. |
