The Veil Nebula
The Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Cygnus (also known as the Cygnus Loop). It comprises objects NGC6992/6995 (the brightest portion at lower right), NGC6960 (the Witch's Broom) at upper left with the bright star 52 Cygni. Lower centre left is is designated Simeiss 3-188 (Pickering's Triangular Wisp). Bottom left of centre is nebulosity designated as NGC6974/6979

The above image was reprocessed July 2008 from the same data used for the image below
with individual images of NGC6960 and NGC6992 layered in.
There are still some issues with mis-matched mosaic panes and colour casts but is the best I can do for now.

Date/Location: Corringham   July/September 2004
Equipment: Takahashi 60mm F6 Refractor on AP900 mount
Camera/Exposure: ST2000XM ccd camera - image is a mosaic of 4 separate images
  Each image was RGB at 30/30/30 minutes binned 1x1 (Total 6 hours)
Notes: I was intending to add high resolution Ha frames to this image but the British weather scuppered the project halfway through (I have 12 hours of Ha data, and will attempt to finish this project Summer 2005)
